Debt Collector Harassment and Abuse FAQs
How much will I need to pay in order to hire your firm to pursue a case against a debt collector?
Answer: Nothing. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act requires that debt collectors who commit violations have to pay damages to the victim (you), and they have to pay your attorney his or her fees. This means that we don’t collect any fees from you. We only collect from the debt collectors.
What if I don't win my case, will have to pay your firm?
Answer: No. Our firm takes these cases with the belief that you will prevail, and that we will collect our fees from the debt collectors. If we turn out to be wrong, and you do not prevail, we do not collect any fees or costs.
What kind of damages can I get in my case?
Answer: If you are successful in an FDCPA claim against an abusive debt collector, you can get up to $1,000.00 for the violation plus any actual damages you may have suffered. The best part is the collector will have to pay your attorney fees and all of the costs associated with filing your case.
